NanoLab Director

Prof. Cristiana obtained a PhD in Pharmacy from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), a Master in Pharmacy and a postgraduate degree in Biosafety from the same university. In addition, Cristiana obtained her undergrad degree in Pharmacy from the Universidade Luterana do Brasil. Cristiana is an adjunct Professor in Pharmacology at the Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG), interested in developing drug micro and nanocarriers and evaluating the developed formulations' therapeutic activity in cell culture and animal models.

Virginia graduated in Pharmacy and Biochemistry from the Universidade Católica de Pelotas, obtained a postgraduate certificate in Molecular Biology and a Master's degree in Molecular Genetic Diagnosis from the Universidade Luterana do Brasil. Virginia received a PhD in Science (Biotechnology) from the Universidade Federal de Pelotas. Experiences in the fields of Pharmacy, Molecular and Cell Biology, Molecular and Cell Oncology and Nanotechnology.

Postdoc Researcher 

Graduated in Pharmacy with a specialization in Clinical Analysis from the Universidade Católica de Pelotas and Multiprofessional specialization in Family Health from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande. Master in Health Sciences from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande, and a joint PhD in Health Sciences (nanotechnology) from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande and the Università Degli studi di Parma, Italy. Experience in nanotechnology applied to health, involving the development and production of lipid nanocarriers containing potential neuropharmaceuticals. Gustavo has been awarded an Industrial Technological Development (DTI) scholarship (level B) at NanoSul Laboratory. 

Postdoc Researcher  

Karina holds a Bachelor's Degree in Food Chemistry and a Master's Degree in Chemistry from the Universidade Federal de Pelotas. Doctorate degree in Food Science and Engineering from the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande with a secondment Doctoral period at the Instituto de Ciencia y Tecnología de Alimentos y Nutrición (ICTAN-CSIC), Madrid. Research interests: experience in Food Science and Technology, working mainly in starch biodegradable/hybrids films, fish protein hydrolysates, bioactivities and encapsulation. Karina has been awarded an Industrial Technological Development (DTI) Scholarship (level B) at NanoSul Laboratory.
