NanoLab Director

Graduated in Pharmacy from the Lutheran University of Brazil (2000), master's and PhD in Pharmacy from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (2003, 2010) with internship at the Université Joseph Fourier/France (2010) and was a visiting professor at the University of Vienna (2023, Capes/Print). Cristiana is an Associate Professor of Pharmacology at the Institute of Biological Sciences at the Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG). Since 2012, she has been a researcher in the Graduate Program in Health Sciences (PPGCS/FURG) (concept 5), integrating the Drugs and Medicines research line, developing projects on: (i) nanostructured systems to increase the oral bioavailability of drugs or other poorly soluble molecules, including natural products; (ii) administration of these systems through different routes, such as pulmonary, cutaneous, or intranasal; and (iii) evaluation of the pharmacological activity of these systems in models of anti-inflammatory, healing, and antimicrobial activity. She is the leader of the CNPq Nanotechnology and Pharmacology Research Group and coordinator of the Nanotechnology Laboratory (LabNano) at FURG.
